Job Title: IT Security Engineer

Description:

The primary objective of this role is to ensure a secure IT environment for Dangote by developing and maintaining the Group’s security architecture. The IT Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in addressing security requirements throughout the development and acquisition lifecycles for all assets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identity and Access Management: Manage and monitor privileged identities and access within the Group.
  2. Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing: Conduct assessments and testing to identify potential security weaknesses in infrastructure and applications.
  3. Application and Database Security: Define, implement, assess, and maintain controls to protect software, applications, and manage database activities.
  4. Deploying and Managing Security Tools: Design and implement scalable, reliable, and user-friendly security solutions. Configure and maintain security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM systems.
  5. IT Security Governance: Develop and implement security policies and procedures for compliance with industry standards and regulations. Support Group-wide IT security audit exercises and review policies, providing advice on IT risk findings.
  6. Security Automation: Utilize systems like Microsoft Sentinel to create automations and playbooks for security incident response. Employ open-source tools for automating repetitive tasks as needed.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc./HND in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 – 8 years of working experience in a similar or related position.
  • Relevant certifications such as MS-500, AZ-500, GSEC, CompTIA, (ISC)2, or other relevant security certificates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in IT security, preferably in a construction-facing industry.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or any security certification.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing security solutions, protocols, and risk management practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001/2, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
  • Knowledge of network and security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, anti-virus, and encryption.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Strong technical skills in Infrastructure, Application, Network, cloud security, Identity & access management, and security automation.
  • Deep understanding and familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, NDPR, ISO27001, etc.
  • Familiarity with PIM/PAM software (e.g., CyberArk) and SIEM software (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel).
  • Experience in Vulnerability Management and Penetration testing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
