Talent Lab, an indigenous talent management and capacity development organization, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of HR Generalist in Abuja (FCT). As an organization dedicated to upskilling individuals in the mass labor market, Talent Lab serves as a bridge between employers and employees while recruiting top local talent for businesses and organizations.

Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type:

  • Reports to: General Manager
  • Travel Requirements: Less than 20 percent

Description and Objectives:

The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, providing support to employees and management. Serving as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the ideal candidate will guide and support on HR-related matters, overseeing HR activities and contributing to Talent Lab’s mission of building a diverse and skilled workforce locally and internationally.


Technical Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Selection:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand hiring needs.
    • Utilize online platforms, job boards, and social media for sourcing.
    • Employ Boolean search techniques for candidate identification.
    • Assess candidates using competency-based interview techniques.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, salary benchmarks, and hiring landscapes.
  2. Payroll Processing:
    • Collaborate with the finance department for accurate payroll processing.
    • Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  3. Compensation and Benefits Analysis:
    • Conduct market research for competitive salary and benefits packages.
    • Administer and analyze compensation surveys.
  4. Performance Management Systems:
    • Manage performance management tools for goal setting and evaluations.
    • Develop and track HR metrics related to turnover, recruitment, etc.
  5. Training and Development Programs:
    • Coordinate employee training and development programs.
    • Utilize e-learning platforms and specialized software.
  6. Workforce Planning and Analytics:
    • Use HR data and analytics for strategic workforce planning.
    • Identify trends and patterns for talent acquisition and retention.
  7. Employee Engagement Surveys:
    • Administer and analyze employee engagement surveys.
    • Develop action plans based on survey results.
    • Implement and maintain employee self-service portals.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive HR experience.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHRi, CIPM).
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
