Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support pediatric screening using risk stratification tools across supported sites.
  2. Support genealogy testing for 0-14 years across supported facilities and communities.
  3. Ensure same-day linkage of all identified positives are linked to care with adequate caregiver counseling.
  4. Ensure full disclosure and OTZ activities are activated across sites offering pediatric services to ensure 100% retention and improve treatment outcomes.
  5. Ensure all children living with HIV (CALHIV) are on optimized regimens.
  6. Ensure that all CALHIV are enrolled in the OVC program in collaboration with the OVC IPs.
  7. Build the capacity of healthcare providers on quality pediatric ART service delivery.
  8. Perform quality of care assessment and ensure that CALHIV receives high-quality comprehensive ART services in accordance with national treatment guidelines.
  9. Support the uptake of Differentiated Service Delivery for CALHIV to improve treatment outcomes and create efficiencies, including MMD refill.
  10. Ensure a line list of clients for viral load sample collection is generated.
  11. Ensure all CALHIV have routine and follow-up viral load sample collection.
  12. Ensure all unsuppressed clients commence enhanced adherence counseling.
  13. Ensure root cause analysis of pediatric unsuppression and strategic interventions to mitigate it.
  14. Ensure mother/baby pair services are optimized.
  15. Work with the OVC partner to ensure youth-friendly services are strengthened in supported facilities.
  16. Ensure AYPIN platforms are fully leveraged for HIVST distribution for adolescent network testing and PrEP.
  17. Support caregivers’ education and literacy programs in collaboration with OVC IPs.
  18. Ensure proper documentation in respective source documents, including OTZ.
  19. Perform other assigned responsibilities as occasion demands by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • S.S.C.E (Minimum qualification)
  • O.N.D/BSc will be an added advantage
  • Ability to communicate in English and the local language.
  • Knowledge of pediatric case management
  • Knowledge of the local language and familiarity with the norms of the location are preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the local language preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in public speaking.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems, PowerPoint.
  • Other software routinely used by HALG.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee will be required to co-locate with local partners, usually in the same office.
  • The employee is required to travel regularly to often insecure and limited-resource environments.
